Who we are (data controller)

Seafuser Ltd (“we”, “us”). Registered in the UK at Marley House, Higher Marley Road, Exeter, EX8 5DT.
Email: Oscar@seafuser.com.
This policy explains how we handle your personal data when you visit our website or contact us.

What data we collect

  • Contact details you provide (name, email, company, message content).

  • Waitlist/marketing preferences (eg. whether you consented to updates).

  • Technical/usage data (IP address, device, pages viewed) via cookies/analytics only if you consent.

  • We don’t intentionally collect special-category data.

How we use your data & our lawful bases

  • Respond to enquiries and manage relationships — legitimate interests (we need this to run our business).

  • Send updates/news about our products (eg. soap dispenser waitlist) — consent (you can withdraw anytime).

  • Site performance/analyticsconsent (non-essential cookies only after you agree).

  • Legal/administrative (eg. accounting, fraud prevention) — legal obligation/legitimate interests.
We will always match each purpose to a lawful basis and only process what’s necessary.

Cookies & analytics

We use essential cookies to make the site work. Non-essential cookies (eg. analytics) run only after you choose Accept on our cookie banner. You can change or withdraw consent at any time via the banner link. See our Cookie Notice for details.

Marketing & your choices

We send marketing emails only with your consent (or soft opt-in where applicable). Every message includes an unsubscribe link. You can also email us to opt out.

Who we share data with

We don’t sell your data. We use trusted service providers (“processors”) for hosting, email, forms and analytics, under contracts that protect your data, e.g.:

  • Website hosting/CMS: Squarespace

  • Email/waitlist: Mailchimp

  • Analytics: Google Analytics
We share data if required by law or to protect rights and safety.

International transfers

Some providers may process data outside the UK. Where that happens, we use UK GDPR safeguards such as the International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) or the UK Addendum to the EU SCCs.

How long we keep data (retention)

  • Enquiries: up to 24 months after our last interaction.

  • Waitlist/marketing: until you unsubscribe or we delete inactive records.

  • Legal records: as required by law.
If we can’t give exact periods, we apply criteria based on necessity and legal requirements.

Your rights

You can ask us to: access, correct, delete, or transfer your data, or to restrict or object to processing. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time (this won’t affect past processing). You also have the right to complain to the ICO if you’re unhappy with how we handle your data. See: ico.org.uk.

Security

We use technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk (eg. encryption in transit, access controls, staff awareness). No method is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data.

Children

Our site and services aren’t intended for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this notice from time to time. We’ll post the new version here and update the “Last updated” date.
